England Safety

As a first world country you may wonder about England safety – is it safe to travel to England?

England has a very low crime rate, and is generally a safe and secure country to visit. Facilities are modern and well-maintained, and the police are helpful and a visible presence in the country.

A few basic precautions should be consider however, as just like any country, petty crime still occurs at times – especially in major cities such as London.

Is it Safe to Travel in England?

Valuables should be kept out of sight, in a money bag or in front pockets. Pick pocketing can occur in busy areas such as crowded Tubes or busy streets, and occasional muggings also occur.

Women especially should avoid walking alone at night, and remote areas such as public parks or subways, or underground areas should be avoided during quiet times.

Taxis are generally safe, however only the black ones are licensed. Unlicensed taxis are often illegal, and drivers may not be licensed either. Robberies have been known to occur in some of these unmarked cabs, so rather avoid them altogether.
