England's people are extremely diverse, with a rich multi-cultural heritage that spans all corners of the world.
The largest group is British, who make up over 80% of the population. Other white groups include Scottish, Irish, Welsh and a small percentage of immigrants from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia.
Indian and Pakistani groups, as well as Bangladeshi groups, can also be found in smaller percentages – especially in London and surrounding areas.
There is also a population of Caribbean immigrants, also mostly in London. Other groups include African and other black groups, mixed ethnic groups and a fairly small number of Chinese.
A very small percentage of Romanichals can also be found. This group, also called Rom, is the so called gypsy tribe and was persecuted for centuries.
Other immigrant groups include Nigerian, Zimbabwean, Italian, German, Turkish, Middle Eastern and many other smaller fractions.
