England Money & Banking

England money & banking is simple and easily assessable, with banks and cash points situated throughout the country.

Banks include Lloyds, Barclays, Midland and National Westminster. Banking hours are generally Monday to Friday from 9h30am to 15h30pm. In larger cities like London, banks may open on Saturdays in the morning.

The cost of living is fairly high in England, and things can be expensive so be careful about overspending. Restaurants alone can cost anything from £10 to £100, depending on where you eat.

Credit cards and debit cards are widely accepted at almost all stores, restaurants, pubs, hotels and tourist destinations, although they may not be as widely accepted in rural countryside areas.

Euros are sometimes used, but not very frequently. There are a number of foreign exchange facilities at hotels, airports and banks which have fairly good rates and can change just about any currency.

ATMs or cash points are found at all banks, plus they can also be found in some supermarkets, restaurants and hotels, as well as major airports.
