Egypt is a country which has a good blend of cultural, outdoor and cosmopolitan. For clothing, you should pack comfortable, lightweight clothing for the day, with comfortable walking shoes as well as costume and sandals for beach visits, and evening clothes for restaurants and bars. Warm clothing is also advised, and a raincoat if you are traveling in winter.
Sunglasses, sunhat and sunscreen are essential, as is a first aid kit including nausea and diarrhea tablets, headache pills, bandages and vitamins. You will also need to bring your own facecloth, as most hotels do not provide these as they are seen as personal items.
A camera with spare batteries, film or memory card is also essential to capture the range of sights – plus binoculars for bird spotting are also a good idea to pack.
