Visas for Egypt
Visas for Egypt are generally arranged before leaving for your trip or at the airport. Visa requirements for Egypt are fairly standard, and visitors should be sure to follow all guidelines when visiting the country.
Visitors have the option between single entry and multiple entry visas, which are generally valid for 6 months for a maximum stay of 3 months.
All foreign nationals require a visa, except for EU nationals travelling to Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Newiba or Taba resorts for up to 14 days, who will receive an entry permission stamp on arrival. Travellers who are continuing their journey on to another country and are not leaving the airport do not need a visa either.
Visa costs for single entry visas are £15, and for a multiple entry visa the cost is £18. Visas take approximately 2-3 working days to be processed.
Passports need to be valid for a minimum of 6 months to apply for a visa, and all foreign nationals other than EU and USA travellers will need to register at the local police station on entering the country. This is often done by hotels however.
