Vaccinations for Egypt are fairly simple, and vaccination requirements Egypt are limited to just a few major diseases.
Compared to many African countries, Egypt has fairly few inoculation requirements, and the diseases that need to be protected against pose a moderate to serious risk for travellers. It is a good idea to visit a doctor who specialised in travel medicine, as he or she will be able to give you proper advice for you trip to ensure optimal health and immunity against diseases found in the country.
Hepatitis A shots, as well as typhoid, tetanus and diphtheria shots are recommended, and rabies shots are essential for travellers who come into contact with wild animals on their travels. Polio shots are also required for travellers who were not vaccinated previously.
Yellow fever shots are generally not needed. However a yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for travellers over one year of age coming from infected areas. Failure to provide proof of vaccination could result in refusal or entry, or having to have the vaccine at the airport at cost.
