Egypt Languages
Egypt languages include Egyptian Arabic as well as a small percentage of indigenous languages.
Arabic was brought into the country in the seventh century, and of all the variants, Egyptian Arabic is the most widely used, alongside Standard Arabic and Sa'idi Arabic.
Egyptian Arabic is spoken widely and sometimes written, while Standard Arabic is used in all written media including newspapers and magazines.
Other local dialects include Bedouin Arabic, which is spoken by the Bedouin tribes, and Sudanese Arabic, which is spoken by the Sudanese refugees in the country.
English is spoken to some degree, however most locals want to improve their English so may be happy to practice on you. Remember to ask if they speak English rather than assuming however. French is also spoken in some of the cities, mostly be educated locals who have travelled abroad as well as shop keepers and some traders.
