About Alexandria

Alexandria is an ancient city situated in Egypt. Alexandria budget travel offers a chance to explore one of Egypt's most ancient and fascinating cities, founded by Alexander the Great, with attractions dating back to the second century BC.

Alexandria airports include:
•El Nouzha - Alexandria Airport

Alexandria money and banking info is as follows:
•Credit cards are accepted at some outlets, but not widely
•Money can be exchanged fairly easily, in banks, airports and some hotels
•Travelers cheques can be exchanged at some places, at cost however
•Banking hours are Sunday to Thursday from 08h30 to 14h00
•ATMs can be found almost everywhere across the city

Safety Tips

•Be sure of the current exchange rate when exchanging foreign currency - some tourists are given a lower rate by sneaky tourists
•Women are often the object of a lot of attention from local boys and men, most of it is harmless but dress conservatively and be firm but polite
•Drinking alcohol and public displays of affection among couples are not advised at all due to Egypt's strict laws
•Be wary of juices as well as tea and coffee, often tap water is used which may cause an upset tummy - stick to bottled water and fizzy bottled drinks sold in the street
