Edfu Temple

Boasting some of the biggest pylons in the Middle East, Edfu Temple has stood the test of time, invasions and modern pollution and still stands looking almost as good as new!
A large granite statue of Horus (the ancient god who looks like a hawk) still guards the internal rooms and you will marvel how anyone, thousands of years ago, could have shaped and polished solid granite that smooth.

Located on the banks of the Nile south of Luxor, Edfu Temple is an interesting and worthwhile visit while on your Nile cruise or felucca trip.

Why do the Edfu Temple?

Glorious monument to Horus
Ancient Egyptian history
Banks of the Nile River
One of the largest temples
