Vaccinations for DRC are essential when visiting the country and vaccination requirement for DRC is fairly standard for an area devastated by disease and poverty.
Yellow Fever inoculations are required to enter the country, and without a vaccination certificate, you will be either refused entry or forced to have the vaccination at the airport, at cost.
Hepatitis A&B shots are essential, as are rabies shots if you will be coming into contact with any wild or domestic animals, and typhoid shots as well.
A once-off polio vaccine is also highly recommended, as polio epidemics have broken out recently. Two measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) shots are also recommended for travelers born after 1956 who haven't had MMR shots. A tetanus-diphtheria revaccination is also recommended every 10 years.
A meningococcus vaccine is also recommended as meningitis is fairly widespread in the country and poses a health threat.
