DRC Transport

Due to the poor state of roads in the DRC, and the political instability, travelling through the country by road or bus is not possible.

There are a few DRC transport options which can get you around the country however, which are able to navigate through the roads or avoid them altogether.

Getting around DRC

Getting around DRC is notoriously difficult, and transport options are extremely limited and often unreliable or unsafe.

Plane Travel in DRC
Planes are the easiest and most reliable way to get around the country, however plane crashes are a risk, and airports can close at any point if there is trouble in the area. Generally however, it is possible to get anywhere in the country by plane.

Truck Travel in DRC

Trucks are a common way to get around the country by road, with a large number of truck stops situated throughout the country. This is not safe to do alone, and women especially should avoid this option.

Ferry Travel in DRC
Ferries along the Congo River operate from Kinshasa to Kisangani every week or two. These can be unstable and uncomfortable, but offer a thrilling adventure like no other.
