DRC plants are prolific and diverse, with thousands of species founds in the country’s dense rainforests, savannas, mountain areas and wetlands.
11,000 forest plant species have been described, and 1,100 of these are found nowhere else in the world. About 69 species are threatened.
There are 600 tree species in DRC's rainforests including timber tree species like teak, ebony, African cedar, mahogany, iroko, and redwood. Other crops include rubber trees, coffee, cotton, and oil palms, plus native fruit trees such as banana, coconut palm, and plantains.

Rainforests in the DRC include evergreen or semi-evergreen rainforest, semi-deciduous forest and evergreen montane and sub-montane forests.
