Drakensberg Rock Climbing
With some of the most popular climbing routes in South Africa, the Drakensberg Rock Climbing area is a mountaineering and nature lover’s paradise.
Drakensberg Rock Climbing offers amazing views from most of the summits and consists of both bolted as well as some good traditional climbing routes.
Consisting of a high 180km long escarpment, the Drakensberg (often referred to as the ‘Berg’) run easterly towards the Indian Ocean with deep valleys and peaks rising to 3300 meters.
The Berg is known for its unpredictable weather with dangers of rain, snow, rock falls and lightning and climbers must ensure they are well prepared.
