Best Time to Visit Congo

With an equatorial climate that is reversed in its two main regions, the Congo climate is generally typical of a rainforest area.

So when is the best time to visit Congo? In the southern areas and near the capital city of Brazzaville, the best time to visit Congo is between May and September which is drier and cooler. Rainy season in the south is usually between October and May.

The northern areas are best to visit between December and February however, with rainfall occurring between the months of April and October. The northern areas are home to dense tropical rainforests, and these areas are generally extremely hot and humid all year round.

Roads are generally extremely bad during wet months, regardless of the region, and flooding can occur around river areas during rainy season so travelers should be careful when visiting during rainy months.
