A day-by-day breakdown of what to expect and where you'll be staying.
Day 1, Victoria Falls
Today you will have a chance to do a few of the optional activities on offer in this adventure paradise. The Falls can be seen from many viewing points in the Victoria Falls Park or from the Zambian side. You will have many photo opportunities. Bungee jumping enthusiasts can take the plunge from the Zambezi Bridge, which connects Zambia and Zimbabwe and the White water rafting is considered world class. Also, flights over the Vic Falls and the islands are available.
Day 2, Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park
This morning we depart Victoria Falls and after a short drive cross the border of Zimbabwe into Botswana. We set up camp for the night at the banks of the Chobe River and prepare for our first night under Botswana's star-filled skies. Chobe is renowned for the large herds of elephant around the Chobe River so bring plenty of spare film!
Day 3, Chobe National Park to Nata
We travel south to the town of Nata - a bird lover's paradise! Due to the nearby Nata sanctuary and Makgadikgadi Pans the birdlife in this area is truly spectacular
Day 4, Nata to Okavango Delta
From Nata we head to Maun and then transfer to the Okavango Delta region. Our camp is located in the heart of the Delta and provide breathtaking views of the surrounding areas.
Day 5, Okavango Delta
Today is a free day for you to spend at your leisure. The variety of optional activities range from game walks to swimming. Relax and take in the beauty of your surroundings.
Day 6, Okavango Delta to Maun
Today we return to Maun, however, you will have the chance for an early morning game walk before packing up camp. There is also the option of a scenic flight over the Delta in the afternoon - the best way to appreciate the expanse of waterways you have travelled through.
Day 7, Maun to Gobabis
Bidding farewell to Botswana we head west into Namibia and spend the night in the frontier town of Gobabis
Day 8, Gobabis to Windhoek
A rather small capital for Namibia but full of historical interest, places to visit, many shops and street markets.some new travellers might join us from Windhoek
Day 9, Windhoek to Waterberg Plateau
We depart for the Waterberg Plateau National Park today. This haven for many endangered species is also the historic site of the German-Herero war. Explore the park at your leisure with a self-guided walk made easy by well marked hiking trails. There are also optional game drives available.
Day 10, Waterberg National Park to Etosha National Park
Leaving the picturesque Waterberg Plateau we head through some stunning scenery as we aim for Etosha National Park - jewel of African wildlife parks.
Day 11, Etosha National Park
A full day of game drives and waterhole viewing as we try to catch a glimpse of some of the plains game and Big 5 that reside in Etosha National Park.
Day 12, Etosha National Park to Swakopmund
A final game drive as we wind our way out of the park and head south and west to the coastal advnture town of Swakopmund.
Day 13, Swakopmund
A leisure day today to get the feel of this quaint German town sandwiched between the edge of a massive dune field and the ocean. Take on some adventure activities or relax in a cafe on the beachfront.
Day 14, Swakopmund to Sesriem
Today we head south, past Walvis Bay enroute to Sesriem. Close by and surrounded by a sea of sand dunes, is Sossusvlei. The top of the dunes, some over 300m high, offers fantastic vies of the desert. We spend the afternoon exploring. One of the optional "must do's" is to walk in this area with the highly specialised local guides of Sossus on Foot who will have some amazing stories to tell. Tonight, a sunset view from the top of a big dune will prove to be one of your most memorable experiences.
Day 15, Sesriem to Sesriem (via Sossusvlei)
An early start as we enter into the park and head for Dune 45. Clamber to the top for a stunning high-point view over the dunes. We continue to Sossusvlei and from here you will have your own free time to explore the vlei or the surrounding area. Stunning photographic opportunities are available in the dunes so bring those cameras!!
Day 16, Sesriem to Aus
Departing from the Namib Naukluft park we travel south to the Aus region where, if we are really lucky, we might see some of the famous wild Namib desert horses!
Day 17, Aus to Fish River Canyon
Further south we reach the second largest canyon in the world - Fish River Canyon, and participate in an optional walk along the rim. Our lodge is nestled amongst beautiful desert scenery and the stark landscape can be breathtaking!
Day 18, Fish River Canyon to Lamberts Bay
Crossing into South Africa over the historic Orange River we travel to the coast and gorgeous Lamberts Bay. Crossing from the stark Richtersveld region into the colourful Namaqualand area (known for its wildflowers) is a big contrast in scenery!
Day 19, Lamberts Bay to Cape Town (via Namaqualand)
We visit a rare colony of Cape Gannet this morning before heading past the West Coast National Park and down to Cape Town. The afternoon is free to spend how you wish - take a trip up Table Mountain, or visit the nearby V&A Waterfront, the choice is yours.
