What to Buy for your Holiday to Burkina Faso?

Wondering what to buy for your holiday to Burkina Faso? You will not anything special for your adventure, but you will need a few basic items to ensure the best travel experience.

You will need basic, tough luggage – preferably a good backpack, and one that will survive the rough and tough of the journey as well as the dust that settles over everything in the country. A decent money bag is also essential to keep your money and valuables secure under your shirt.

Malaria medication is essential, and a good multi-vitamin is also a good idea as some of the food in Burkina can be very basic – especially in the villages where plain rice with oil is a staple for many villagers. A basic first aid box is also a good idea, with some bandages, headache pills and anti-diarrhea pills.

Water is a scarce commodity in Burkina Faso, and tap water is never suitable to drink. Stock up on bottled water in the city and larger towns, and if you are visiting a village, bring as much water as possible.
