Burkina Faso Transport

Burkina Faso transport options include a range of bus services as well as the more adventurous moto transport, with a range of options in between.

Getting around Burkina Faso

It is fairly easy getting around Burkina though a number of cheap and fairly reliable transport options.

Bus Travel in Burkina Faso
Buses are one of the most reliable and affordable transport methods in Burkina, and are generally fairly comfortable as well. The best liners are the state-owned STMB buses, but the privately owned TGV buses are also fairly good.

Car Travel in Burkina Faso
Self-drive in Burkina is a fairly good option, as it is safe in most areas. Motorists should never leave valuables in cars however, and should be careful when driving at night especially in dark areas with no street light.

Motorcycle Travel in Burkina Faso
The ever present ‘motos’ can be seen everywhere, and can be hired for a quick and easy way to get around towns and cities. This can be a bit daunting though, so be prepared!
