Pondering the best time to visit Botswana? Technically, Botswana is a year-round travel destination offering spectacular scenery and game viewing all year round, however depending on your travel priorities there are a few seasons which offer prime conditions.
Game viewing is best during the dry winter, which runs from May to October. In this season, game tends to converge on water holes and specific areas near water source, so it is easier to spot wildlife on your safari. The bush is also thinner during these months, making game more visible.
Bird watching is at its most spectacular during the wet summer, which is between November and April. Breeding local birds and a host of migrating birds can be found in huge numbers in the lush bush and wetlands.
Photographic opportunities abound all year round, however the summer months offer the additional beauty of wildlife babies and fresh scenery.
