Birdlife

Over 350 species have been recorded in the area, with a range of Kasane birdlife including saddle-billed storks, long-toed plovers, pink-backed pelicans, African skimmers, Bradfield's hornbills and carmine bee-eaters.

Conservation

With one of Botswana's most beautiful and famous game parks, Chobe National Park, and some of the most diverse and rich landscapes, Kasane conservation plays an important role in preserving the area's habitats.

Safety Tips

• Remember that many wildlife can be dangerous, so be cautious during all game activities
• Do not ever leave camp alone on foot, or get out of your car during game drives
• Don’t ever try and touch or feed any of the animals you see ' you may get attacked by nervous or aggressive game
• Avoid swimming in the river, which may have hippos or crocodiles, as well as bilharzias in the water
• Do not leave valuables lying around, rather keep them locked up in the camp safe to avoid temptation

Wildlife

Kasane wildlife is fairly prolific, with a number of species to be seen. Elephant and hippo are common occurrences in this region, especially near the Chobe River, while other species include sable, roan, oribi and reedbuck.
