The 3rd annual Luderitz Speed Challenge 2009 kicks off on 1st November in Luderitz, Namibia and promises to be bigger and badder than ever!
Having broken 50 knots last year (Sebastien Cattelan (Genetrix, Xelerator) over 500m) the target for 2009 looks to be 52 knots or 60 miles and hour! Some of the world's top speed sailers are already confirmed including the 'fastest man on water' over 500m Alexandre Caizergues (F-One), and the world's fastest woman, Sjoujke Bredenkamp (Naish).
This year promises the ultimate in thrills and speed records are sure to tumble! With only 10 hours to drive from Cape Town and 8 hours from Windhoek, Luderitz is within easy reach of a major airport.
