Elephant Swimming in Mozambique Waters!

Monday, February 6th, 2012

Recently, a happy ellie (elephant) was spotted having a ball in the waves of Nuarro Bay, Nampula, Mozambique.

The question is, where did the elephant come from? The best guess is that he travelled from about 150km away seeing as Lurio Falls is home to ellies. That’s quite a far trek for this little guy to enjoy the washing, drinking and frolicking he’s so obviously loving. Regardless, he looks happy to be at Nuarro Bay and residents hope he stays.

LMFAO Friday: Overlanders are not the only party animals in Africa

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Elephants stumbling home drunk after a heavy night at the pub, monkeys falling flat on their faces. Watch this hilarious (and cute) video to see what happens when Africa’s wildlife has one too many…

With more than 100,000 view on YouTube, this video illustrates that gap year students on an overland tour, are not the only ones to have “one too many” in the wild savannahs of Africa.

Note: This video is NOT set-up! It is a well documented fact that elephants and many other African animals get drunk from eating fruit that falls to the ground and ferments under the hot African sun. The fruit from the Amarula Tree is apparently an elephants favourite!

Enjoy – Andre.
