Boutique Private Game Reserves in The Caprivi Stripby Jarred Manasse


The area is covered in swamps, woodland forests, rivers, and forests. Caprivi Strip offers something for everybody, and although the rugged terrain can be accessed by a 2-wheel drive vehicle, the eastern parts can only be accessed in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. There are four national parks: Mudumu, Mahango, Bwabwata, and Mali. The area is home to 700 species of birds, amazing fauna and flora and four of the Big Five.

Caprivi Strip is also home to six ethnic tribes who speak a Zambian language called Lozi.

Caprivi Safari Lodge
This is a luxurious lodge nestled amid lush green gardens alongside the Zambezi River. It's located close to Katima Mulilo in Namibia's Caprivi region. It offers genuine hospitality in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

Here you can find five en-suite chalets that open onto the shores of the river. There are three campsites with running water, accessible toilets, and electricity, as well as two large kitchens equipped with a gas cooker and dishwashers.

There are plenty of fun activities at the Lodge, that include night safari boats that take you along the Zambezi river. You can also fish, bird watch or simply lounge in the sunset.

Kwando Camp

Kwando Camp offers luxurious accommodation just outside Mudumu National Park which comprises of tents, campsites and tree houses. If you compare prices with others private games in the Okavango region, prices here are much lower, and you can enjoy much better safari experiences and game sighting.

Namushasha Lodge

This is a luxury lodge located in the bush, and it overlooks a tranquil hippo pool. You get air-conditioned bungalows in Namushasha and many opportunities to see the Big Five, as well as birding.

Mazambala Island Lodge

If you're looking for a place for lots of rest, then Mazambala Island Lodge is the place to be. The locals refer to it as "Place of Abundance."

Close by is Ngepi Camp, which also offers unique accommodation in its luxury houses perched on trees. You get to see perhaps the only pool in the world that accommodates both Hippos and Crocodiles. The nearly Popa Falls offers comfortable and rustic accommodation which gives value for money.

Nkasa Lupala Lodge

Nkasa Lodge is a favorite lodge to many in eastern Caprivi, also called Manila. Nkasa Lupala Park which surrounds the Lodge is famous for its large herds of buffaloes, elephants and a high population of the game that attracts all the big predator, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and hyenas.
