Vaccinations for Benin are essential when traveling to this country.

All travelers should have shots for hepatitis A and B as well as typhoid. Yellow fever inoculations for travelers over 1 year of age are essential to enter Benin, and a vaccination certificate will often be requested when entering the country.

Meningococcus shots are recommended during the dry season which runs from November through June, as the harsh dry wind can cause problems and spreading.

A one-time polio booster is recommended for any adult traveler who completed the childhood series but didn't have polio vaccine as an adult. A rabies shot is also recommended for travelers who will be spending time near animals, especially any activity that involves contact with bats.

Two measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) shots are recommended for travelers born after 1956, who haven't already had MMR shots. A tetanus-diphtheria re-vaccination is also recommended every 10 years.
