Tree species to be found in Benin include baobab, coconut, oil palm, ronier palm, ebony, shea nut, kapok, fromager, and Senegal mahogany.
Other exotic plant species to be found in Benin’s forest regions include carnivorous plant utricularia reflexa as well as the aquatic carnivorous plant utricularia stellaris. Phanerophytes, lianas and therophytes are also common species to be found in the forest regions.
Savannah regions include species of long grass as well as occasional baobab and thorny shrubs.
