Best Time to Visit Angola

Angola does not have clear Spring or Autumn, and only has two main notable seasons –a dry, cool season from June to late September, and a rainy, hot season from October to the end of May.

The best time to visit Angola is usually during cooler months, as many game parks close during rainy season due to excessive flooding and the roads can be almost impossible to navigate in the rains as they turn to mud.

Bird watching and walking or hiking are also best in the cooler months as the hot, rainy months can be extremely humid. However some areas vary and the desert areas do not have much climate change. Coastal regions typically have less rainfall during summer, and can be ideal for beaches.

The heaviest rainfall is in April, and during these months thunderstorms can be experienced – especially in the forest and savanna regions.
