Angola Transport

There are a number of Angola transport options, not all of them are reliable however, so it is a good idea to find out more about the best options for getting around on your Angola tour.

Getting around Angola

Getting around Angola can be done in a number of ways, all offering pros and cons – be sure to choose the safest option to ensure a problem-free travel experience.

Train Travel in Angola
Trains are very erratic and only run within the country. Tickets are very hard to purchase, and conditions are poor.

Car Travel in Angola
Self-drive without a 4x4 is not recommended, as roads are very poor – especially in wet summers. Safety is a key issue, and areas outside of Luanda are dangerous with potential landmine areas as well as hijackers.

Taxi Travel in Angola
Taxis are generally safe, especially private taxis which can be ordered from restaurants or hotels. Prices vary on taxi fares.

Bus Travel in Angola
Buses run throughout the city, especially in Luanda, and are generally fairly cheap and reliable.
