Angola AIDS

Angola AIDS is an increasing epidemic, with recent statics showing that about 180,000 adults aged 15 or over in Angola are living with HIV/AIDS. This is approximately 4.0% or 1 in 25.

AIDS is mostly transmitted through sexual relations or through blood, either from needles or un-sterile equipment, or through pregnancy, childbirth or even breastfeeding.

Angola HIV & AIDS

Angola HIV & AIDS health concerns are important on your OverlandingAfrica.com tour, so ensure that you follow basic precautions to stay safe on your travels in Angola.

The following precautions are essential:

  • Don’t ever share needles or syringes
  • Practice safe sex at all times
  • Equipment may not be adequately sterilised, or blood may not be properly screened for HIV
  • If you require self-administered injections, take an adequate supply of your own needles
  • Don’t have a tattoo, acupuncture treatment or body piercing unless the equipment is sterile
