Aleppo City Tour

When you are dealing with a city over 4000 years old (inhabited) there is only so much you can see in one day. However a guided city tour is the best way to cover as many bases as possible.

Properous Aleppo sat at the end of the 'Silk Road' which had already passed through central Asia and Mesopotamia on its way towards the Med Coast. After the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869 Aleppo began its slow decline accelerated by the fall of the Ottoman empire (1940's) which isolated Syria further when it lost it's access to the sea.

Fortunately this probably saved the ruin of the more ancient parts of the city and today Aleppo is successfully maintaining and restoring it historic quarters.

Why do the Aleppo City Tour?

Oldest inhabited cities On the Silk Road
